WB2 got a pair of new shoes some time ago. However, being
the sentimental kind, he refused anything new (except new toys of course) and
wants to stick to his old pair (yes, regardless of how smelly or small it is
becoming). Well, we didn’t want to push things too, so just leave it (the
shoes) as it is. Then one day (yesterday, to be exact), as we were on our way
out, I just subtly pointed out to him that there’s that pair of new shoes, and
asked if he wants to try them. He looked at it, said “yes” and went ahead to
wear the new pair. No protest, or any fuss. He has since (suddenly) gotten used
to the new shoes and it’s now his preferred choice. I guess kids will grow up
when they’re ready to. There's nothing we can do to hasten or to retard the process.
